Syria, victim of violence

Syria, victim of violence

During the existence of humanity there have been war conflicts for different reasons, such as: territory, religion, ideology, economic power, among others. The point is that man, no matter how much time passes, will always be looking for problems in the smallest things, sometimes there is reason, but other times he just wants power, now we will see a conflict caused by a bad government and that has sparked protests and uprisings.

Overall conflict

Assad used violence like an arm to suppress demonstrations, but does this really works?

Syria was hit hard, trapped in violence and now a country divided in at least four sides.

In 2011, Bashar al-Assad the autocratic leader who ruled Syria since the year 2000, was asked in an interview if he expected the wave of popular protests, known as the Arab Spring the sweeping to the Arab world, this upset Tunisia and Egypt.

Twelve years of violence

Assad promised to let markets take the place of the “Arab socialism” touted by the Baathist state. He broke up and privatized state monopolies, thing that only beneficed de people related with the regime, while the end of subsidies and price ceilings caused a big damage to rural peasants and urban laborers, this led the socioeconomic problems grow up.

The Arab Spring arrived, due to a Tunisian fruit seller decrying corruption. This act promoted protests and countless uprisings. Hundreds of activists died after a violent crackdown, some opposition groups formed armed militias that went against the Syrian government and in the process took territory, which resulted in a civil war in the country.

Syria has become a battlefield on which the region’s geopolitical rivalries have been fought, that is why this civil war stay stand up after twelve years.

War's impact on society

There are multiple effects that this war leaves in the society, but one of the most several are the refugee movements, Syrian people seeking refuge wherever will accept them; the refugee crisis has become a new focal point for political debate concerning the Middle East.  Nowadays, people are scared and frightened, due to this war, now people must leave their homes to skip de death, to reach de liberty and tranquility, is a sad but a brave step that they are doing, however in other countries they are not secure, because they can be rejected or judged and the majority of the time they go to another country without the enough money. The fact is that all of this acts go against humanity and civil rights.

The solution towards the dilema

Personally, I consider that this conflict does not have a single solution, the truth is that the entire country should cooperate, even if there is international help, if the leader of that country does not leave, the rules and laws will remain the same, because at the same time Being an autocratic leader, he is the only one in charge of the country, it is true that the voice belongs to the people, but he does not pay attention, and from my perspective, I see that he only wants the well-being for himself and those connected to the regime. If this continues like this, Syria will continue to protest and the oppression will not stop, causing a common evil that affects the people who live there and those who have migrated, because despite that, their identity is born in Syria, and discrimination in other lands it will be countless, in addition the need for economic resources will be present. We must be realistic and speak the truth no matter how hard it may be, the solution to this conflict is very far away, but the thinking of some people will be able to understand why we must think before acting, living in harmony and in constant communication is the key to conflict avoidance.
